The Holy Grail
How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind
Consciousness is timeless – it is the unmanifested, the eternal, the formless. When consciousness flows into form, it appears to be subject to time and undergoes an evolutionary process. Full understanding of this process is elusive but we can glimpse it within ourselves and become a conscious participant in it – we are, after all, form harbouring consciousness.
When consciousness becomes form, intelligence remains, but consciousness becomes unconscious of itself and it becomes identified with form. To become more conscious we learn how to create form without losing our self in it – we remain conscious of our self whilst we create and experience form. And as we explore, we become more mindful of whom we truly are – we become conscious of self.
In Aura-Soma yellow represents the magical mind power of 'I am!' - the consciousness of a separate self.
The Holy Grail represents the Whole Self and nothing but the Self, the search for self and the joyful inner ease when we answer the call to adventure, the call to find our destiny: who we are and how we fit into the greater scheme of things. The ultimate power of the Grail is its ability to transform and make us whole as we pursue our life’s destiny.
Bottle 22, The Rebirth Bottle, yellow/pink represents The Fool setting off on his return journey: we are all fools with a choice to open the magical bag we carry – the bag that holds all our gifts and our talents. We have many chances to transform self and can be reborn many times; we have a durable staff to support us through our ups and downs – the secret is to open our eyes to the geography of our being and not get lost in the world of form.
Part of the Grail myth is the Fisher King: the King that has been dealt a dolorous blow to his groin (fertility and fecundity) who can only be healed by someone being compassionate enough to ask the question: What ails thee? Without mind we cannot embark on a journey to the centre of self as we will have to ask questions along the way. It takes a conscious act, spiritual awareness and mindfulness to mend our Inner King.
'Yellow is also the colour of intellect, clarity of thought and the processes that unfold within the mental realm.' The Aura-Soma Sourcebook.
Yellow relates to the solar plexus, the area Vicky called the spaghetti junction 'where body, mind and spirit come together to bring forth energy, life, and power into the here and now.' Anne Cannock in Aura-Soma Self-Discovery Through Color. Bottle 4, yellow /gold is in fact called Sunlight.
The Grail represents many things, but at the heart of it is the fact that we feel frightened, despondent and powerless unless our personal grail is in our life. When we exile our self from our deepest desires, we live in our own wasteland. Pursuing our grail brings an inner relaxation, a sense of sustenance to self and a flow of life.
At the highest level, it is subtly realising your unique space in the world and effortlessly following along the path that was meant for you.
