‘The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms’ - Thích Nhat Hanh

The mind is a wanderer: it wanders into the future, mooches through the past and often digs into the unconscious – with, to say the least, enlightening consequences. A mind mindful of supporting us to become more conscious – and specifically more conscious of our true self - is a mind serving its true purpose. ‘Yellow is also the colour of intellect, clarity of thought and the processes that unfold within the mental realm.’ Aura-Soma Sourcebook. Applying the contents of any of the fourteen bottles with a yellow fraction could support our efforts to be present with clarity, could elicit the transition from the knot of contraction, the being self-conscious to self-aware – which in fact manifests as the shift from more base desires to a more noble intention.

With awareness comes the question: Who am I? Our mind will answer that we have a name, we have a personal history, we live at so-and–so address and, above all, that we are an indwelling divine spirit. And yet truly sensing who we are has nothing to do with ideas floating around in our mind. Knowing self is being anchored in being, rather than being lost in our mind. Being lost in mind often entails that we conjure up all kinds of situations that bring about fear, anxiety and reactivity. When we become aware that this is happening, our mind could serve a positive purpose by telling us who we are NOT. We are not those things our life is about – who we are is that which enables the content of our life to be. And directing our mind to grasp this- even for a fleeting moment – is our challenge. Bottle 4, The Sunlight Bottle, yellow/gold may inspire us to unearth our ‘wisdom from the depths of self so that there is no longer conflict between inner and outer and we are able to see the incredible symmetry in chaos’ Mike Booth

Bottle 7

By thinking about our life and the chaotic nature of the crises we have experienced, we habitually label events as good or bad – and yet there is a part of us that knows that underlying it all is the unfolding of a higher order and purpose. Perpetually thinking about and trying to make intellectual sense from it, serves little purpose, but we can align our self with it and become conscious participants of a higher order. Bottle 74, Triumph, pale yellow/pale green may appeal to us ‘if we are true to ourselves and can express our heartfelt feelings. We have made the space for ourselves to become clear in relation to our intellect’. From the notes offered on the Aura-Soma course, The 72 Angels of the Kabballah. Mike Booth once wrote about the essence of Bottle 7, The Final Test of Faith, yellow/green ‘…I give knowledge and wisdom, the acceptance to trust the process of life. I bring joy to your heart when you trust in me. Life is for mastery not to be mastered by’.

When in tandem with the heart (green), the mind is a powerful tool. Our mind grounds us in time and supports us to use experience to deduce how to act differently and in such a way that we are aligned with our deeper self. The unfolding of the heart is artful and mysterious: there are always ups and downs, openings and closings often followed by fresh entanglements. In the course of our dance around the still point, we return to where we started many times, but each time with a fuller, more open heart.

And as you sense the inner harmony and realise that you are not separate from it, you become realigned with the wholeness of life.
